SevenkoAuth — Self-Hosted Identity & Access Platform
A deep-dive into the engineering behind our production OIDC identity provider, now serving as the authentication backbone for the Sevenko Apps ecosystem.

SevenkoAuth is a self-hosted, OIDC-compliant identity provider engineered to eliminate third-party auth dependencies. It handles sign-up, sign-in, multi-factor authentication, and single sign-on — all from infrastructure you control.
Architecture Overview
SevenkoAuth runs as a containerised Next.js application behind Caddy (auto-TLS), backed by PostgreSQL for durable identity storage and Redis for session caching. It implements the OIDC Authorization Code Flow with PKCE, serving as a standards-compliant OpenID Provider that any OIDC-aware client can connect to.

- Argon2id password hashing with per-user salts — memory-hard, resistant to GPU and ASIC attacks
- Multi-factor auth via SMS one-time codes, email OTP, and TOTP authenticator apps
- Magic links — passwordless sign-in with single-use, time-limited email tokens
- HttpOnly session cookies — signed, server-side sessions revocable from the admin panel
- Full audit trail — every login, MFA challenge, and admin action is logged and reviewable
- OIDC with PKCE — standards-compliant authorization code flow, no implicit grants
Production Deployments
SevenkoAuth is the identity backbone for the Sevenko Apps ecosystem:
- OpenClaw Gateway SSO — employee access to the AI orchestration platform via OIDC, proxied through oauth2-proxy
- Mailcow Webmail SSO — unified sign-on for company email, eliminating separate credentials
- Sevenko Intranet — internal portal authentication for agents and staff
- Machine-to-machine — API credentials for service accounts and backend integration
